Samantha O’Malley
Samantha O’Malley, Class of 2014 and former Animation student, is working as a motion designer at Sharp Hat in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and just made a 3D animation that’s part of the Brand ID for Superbowl 50.

I know. She’s amazing.
Back in October she contacted me to help her with a very specific lens flare effect that she was trying to achieve in C4D – the software I use to teach modeling, animation, motion graphics to my students in the Electronic Art and Animation program at Ramapo College. I suggested checking environment settings, volume caustics and noise as well as the reflexes and glow settings under the lens tab in her light object.

Then she sent me this:
“Hi Ann,
Thank you for your help a few weeks back! The NFL went with my video! Its now on their invitation page and being sent to everyone going to the Super Bowl! I also animated their header and their background! The played a clip of it on ESPN 2 weeks ago, as well!!
THANK YOU!!”
I’m so proud! Of her and all of our animation students who have the guts to stick with what they love.
