Taliesin Map Series

Three collages on Rives BFK,  20″x 30″ unframed, 2011

After creating the Mapping for Empathy series, LePore returned to archived Taliesin maps and videos, creating a collaged series of maps which show the variety and emotion in perception of place.

All three maps use the color red to symbolize death. Each map also has a trail of 13s winding through the landscape. These numbers mark a path taken in an effort to walk a straight line, due North.

Close inspection of each map reveals a building or a feature repeated. Even the residents of the Taliesin enclave have slightly different perceptions of where and at what scale certain features are located.
